Director, Products and Solutions Engineering (Annapolis/Silver Spring, MD)

The BYTEGRID Director of Products and Solutions Engineering (DPSE) is a technical sales role assigned to the national market. The DPSE will be responsible and accountable for maintaining vendor relationships, providing project guidance, designing solutions, managing the solution engineering team and supporting the sales teams for new business and existing customers with a heavy emphasis on new business. The DPSE will represent all of BYTEGRID’s products and services including colocation, managed services, cloud, and compliance. The prospects include small and medium businesses as well as larger enterprises in all industry segments specifically focused on Healthcare, Life Sciences, Financial and other highly regulated verticals. This position reports directly to the CTO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage expanding Solution Engineering team.
  • Manage technology vendor and partner relationships
  • Partner with the sales team in a consultative manner
  • Network within the local market to create new sales opportunities
  • Work with the extended sales teams to help design and propose the ByteGrid Solution set
  • Represent BYTEGRID in the marketplace in a professional manner
  • Assist Channel and Direct Sales groups in RFP responses
  • Assist Marketing with product messaging


  • Minimum of 3 years managing a technical team with a managed hosting or managed services provider.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the technology industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience selling Cloud Solutions & Managed Services
  • Proven track record of success in complex IT environments
  • Consultative selling experience (selling capabilities rather than just products)
  • Experience with Salesforce and Steelbrick CPQ preferred.
  •  Demonstrated skills working in a high performance organization
  • Established local network within the IT community
  • Ability to partner and influence within the C-suite
  • Team Player
